Impressed is a direct to superfan vinyl brand, lovingly curating only the most vital music on wax. From naming to TOV, visual identity, packaging, go-to-market strategy and branding, I helped build Impressed from the ground up.
The Impressed brand was a nominated AGDA finalist. Its limited runs have since gone on to sell out in hours and even blitz the ARIA charts.
Alongside the excellent Madeleine Gottlieb, I have been further immersing myself in the world of music supervision. I worked with Sony/ATV to soundtrack 'Latecomers' on SBS, and played the score for the short film 'Snare' which premiered at SXSW and Tribeca. I also built comprehensive character playlists for the AACTA-nominated 'Erotic Stories' , which was exactly as fun as you imagine
In addition, I have curated music for the BBC, Leo Burnett, Manifesto Studios London and various cafes that compensate me in macchiatos.
Marrying my love of journalism, marketing and music, I have been crystallising the stories behind new releases for well over 15 years. My clients include all major record labels, key indies and more. PR companies love me.
Some of my favourite bios include Flight Facilties, Charlie Collins, SWIM, Jungle Giants,, Polish Club, Megan Washington, Troye Sivan, Ta-Ku and a unique postcard set for BANFF.
Despite never officially working at a label (burning CDs at Modular Records doesn't count) I've somehow managed to A&R a number of compliations and records which has been an absolute delight.
These include both editions of Field Recordings, which spotlit nascent electronic producers like Ninajirachi, Jonti and Lucy Blomkamp, as well as soul pioneers Ngaiire and Milan Ring.
I also helped sign Alex Gow, Ella Haber, The Beefs, Victoria and Hungry Kids of Hungary to Impressed Recordings.
